Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Bangkok
Yes I like markets. The other week we had a day off and went to one of the 5 floating markets in Bangkok - this one is out of town. Like most things in Bangers, it's a hot, sweaty, steamy (and after rain, pretty smelly) chaotic affair.
So if you visit, take your time and hire the non-motorised long boat for maximum floating and make sure it has sunbrellas to keep off the heat.
Buy a bottle of Singha or a Chang off a passing boat and watch the world float by as you get up close and personal with the stall holders. (No I don't wear harem pants with elephants on them but thanks).
Keep your hands inside the vessel at all times - it's hand crushing gridlock in some of those canals.
Look out for wayward selfie sticks - those things are lethal.
ps: order the seafood, fruit, coconuts etc that are on sale at your own peril (when you see the water you will soon understand why I say that).
