Livin' La Vida Lockdown Day 24 - now with 18+ to go:

Another day - another iso extension

In case we didn't know how to do it already - we just got another two weeks to really master this lockdown. To really learn how to get our temp checked, stand in queues once a week, wash masks, bleach everything, never leave the house unless its food-related, pace the apartment and learn what self-isolation really means. Another two weeks to really understand the true meaning of social distancing. Not the go for a jog or a walk or go to the beach (looking at you Oz) - the real ones the rest of the world are actually enduring in order to control this beast. The real stay at home.

I am 24 days into this and with another 18 to go now - and an option to extend until mid-May is also on the cards. The numbers are becoming totally irrelevant. Time is fluid. It's Twilight Zone stuff. Life as I once knew it is totally unrecognisable.

I don't have much to say - the stats here are pretty good compared to a lot of places - it is under control in many ways but this is real lockdown world where they take no chances - and don't ride on small gains. They want this done once and only once not dragged out over 6 months. There are so many countries going through this right now that I have lost track. I am one of millions around the world experiencing this - and I remind myself of that every day.

So I ask you all to consider what staying at home really means for a lot of the world right now. A lot of us are also doing this journey solo and not by choice. So be mindful of that over the coming weeks as you 'celebrate' festivities and get all fun and games over the Easter breaks - this is not the case for so many people right now. What I am trying to say is - just don't be a tone-deaf dickhead with your mates during this time. Just don't.

It is not a good time for a lot of people right now - it is not business as usual by a long shot so be kind, generous of heart and mindful of words and deeds. Not everyone has the freedoms you do right now. Remember that.
